After Singapore and Fiji ratified the Singapore mediation Convention (i.e. the United Nations Convention on international settlement agreements arising from mediation), Qatar ratified the Convention on March 12, 2020. According to the relevant provisions of the Convention, the Singapore conciliation convention will enter into force on September 12, 2020, six months after the ratification of the third country.

On August 7, 2019, 46 countries, including China, the United States, India, South Korea and several ASEAN countries, officially signed the Singapore mediation convention, so that parties from different countries can cross-border implement the mediation settlement agreement.

The entry into force of this Convention will help promote international trade, commerce and investment. Together with the New York Convention on international arbitration agreement and the Hague Convention on choice of court agreement, the three conventions will form a complete implementation framework for international dispute settlement.
